| Price hike on diesel, petrol assault on poor people’s right: Bhim | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 15 Chairman, National Panthers Party (NPP) and Member National Integration Council (NIC) Prof. Bhim Singh has described hike in petrol and diesel prices as per ‘paying peter and robbing peril’ being highly discriminatory and an open assault on the poor on their right to ‘life’ and ‘liberty’. As per a press release from New Delhi, Bhim has accused the government of its double standards as Government is talking about the rise in international price hike while hiding the fact about the enormous excise duty upto 34% it has imposed on the import of the crude oil. It has also brought the price on the same level on the crude oil produced in India. He said international rates of tea, coffee, food are 100 times higher in India. Shall the government follow the international rates on all the essential commodities, as ‘fuel’ is an essential commodity? Accusing the Government for reducing excise duty on ‘Scotch’ whisky and raises price on crude oil because scotch is consumed by upper class and crude oil is meant for every wretched on earth. He called the youth to take the matter to the streets to expose, oppose and depose the draconian rule to save the poor. |
