| 4-day International Conference on Central Asia being held in KU | | | Srinagar, August 25 – Centre of Central Asian studies (CCAS) is organizing a four day international conference on Central Asia in Retrospect and Prospect from 28-31 August 2006. The event is first of its kind in Kashmir University where participants from across the globe are participating in large number. Reputed international scholars and intellectuals from USA, Holland, Germany, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Pakistan, Korea and Japan are participating in the conference. Besides, Ambassadors and Diplomats of various Embassies of Central Asian countries are also contributing in the conference. In this mega event a large number of diplomats and academicians across the country are participating. The aim of the conference is to foster the relationship and sharing of academic resources for mutual understanding. The inaugural session of the conference will commence on 28th August at 10 a.m being inaugurated by Governor Lt. Gen (Retd) S K Sinha and Chancellor Kashmir University and presided over by Chief Minister and Pro-Chancellor Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad at Gandhi Bhawan, University campus. |
