| BOSE official caught red handed accepting bribe | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 15 The State Vigilance Organization today caught red handed an employee of the Board of School Education (BOSE), office, Rehari Jammu, while accepting bribe of Rs.1500 from a student, who had applied for correction of an alphabet against his father’s name in his Matriculation Marks sheet and certificate. A spokesman of the Vigilance Organization said here that complainant Sajjad Hussain Shah s/o of Abdul Rashid Shah of Pathirebal Palmar, Kishtwar lodged a written report with P/S VOJ alleging therein that he had applied for making correction against his father’s name in his Matric marks sheet and certificate. He had also deposited an amount of Rs.700 as fee with the BOSE for the purpose still the correction was not made though he stayed at Jammu for last one month to pursue the matter. The concerned dealing Assistant Arjun Singh demanded Rs.1500 as illegal gratification from him for making the correction, the complainant alleged. The spokesman further said that a case FIR NO 3/2008 was registered in the P/S VOJ and investigation taken up. In the course of investigation, the officials of the SVO laid a successful trap and caught red handed the accused Arjun Singh, Junior Assistant while accepting bribe of Rs.1500 from the complainant in presence of independent witnesses and the accused was taken into custody for further investigation, the spokesman added. |
