| Locals ignored in jobs at Sewa Hydel Project | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 15 Former deputy speaker J&K legislative assembly Ghulam Hyder Malik in a press statement issued here today has said that construction work of Sewa Hydel Project stage II was handed over to NHPC during National Conference regime against an agreement executed between J&K Government and the corporation on behalf of the central government that all class D and C posts of the project will be filled by the locals especially. He said corporation had failed to do so and the construction work has been sublet to other firms to save their skin and ignored locals in providing jobs but have appointed non locals who are from other states. Malik further said that the locals who were adjusted in the ratio not more than 30 per cent are disengaged without any reason. Due to this attitude of the corporation the labour union is on strike since five days and demanding due share for the locals of this area. But the government is keeping mum because of their monopoly with the corporation. Malik said that it is the prime duty of the government to interfere in the matter and make it possible to implement the agreement so that justice is given to the sufferers of the area. |
