| Arrest warrant issued against Lal Singh's brother | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 29: After Jammu Kashmir Police issued a lookout notice against Rajinder Singh who was seen, in a video, abusing the Jammu Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti at a rally in Kathua a few weeks ago, Chief Judicial Magistrate Kathua on Tuesday issued a warrant of arrest against Rajinder Singh alias Babby.
"Based on application filed by SHO Police Station Hiranagar to the effect that accused Rajinder Singh @ Babby, involved in FIR no 187 of 2018 for offences under sections 501,509 of RPC and sections 66/67 of I.T Act registered with Police Station Hiranagar, is evading arrest and is hiding/concealing himself at places like Jammu, Udhampur in State of J&K and in District Pathankot- Punjab, that for tangible results to be yielded in the investigation, arrest of accused is needed and because he is evading arrest, hence application moved for issuance of warrant of arrest against him under section 25 of Police Act," the order read.
CJM Kathua heard and on perusal of case file pertained to FIR in question against accused on May 21, 2018, found that since accused could not be apprehended, a lookout notice also stands issued against him.
Sufficient grounds, therefore, are laid out in the application warranting issuance of a warrant of arrest against the accused authorizing therein SHO Police Station Hiranagar to execute said warrant and as consequence of same apprehend/arrest accused in connection with aforesaid FIR wherever found.
Rajinder Singh is the younger brother of former Jammu-Kashmir minister and BJP leader Lal Singh, who was dropped from the state cabinet after he participated in a rally organised by Hindu Ekta Manch in support of Kathua rape-murder accused. |
