| Youngsters to find berth in Ranji team: Salim | | JKCA selectors to meet on Sunday to finalise team | | Early Times Reporter

Youngsters would be given a chance in the senior cricket team of the state when the penal of selectors shall be meeting to finalise the state squad for the North Zone Ranji one-day competition starting from February 26 at New Delhi.
This was disclosed by the general secretary of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA), Salim Khan in an interaction with SAN.
“As desired by the selectors, the youngsters who have performed well in the recently held competitions under the banner of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), would get a chance to perform at the senior level,” said Salim Khan
The penal of selectors is scheduled to meet on February 17 at Jammu to decide the state squad for the one-dayers at zonal level.
“All the four selectors of the senior group, Nirmal Singh, Vidya Bhaskar, Ashraf Bhat and Adrees Gandroo shall be meeting on Sunday i.e. February 17 to decide the team for the one-dayers,” informed the general secretary.
Justifying the selection only a couple of days before the event, Salim Khan, who is presently camping in Jammu, said, “the selectors are aware of the boys performance and moreover a group of players have already been picked for both Test and one-dayers. So, I don’t think there was need to announce the team in advance.”
Meanwhile, as per the already laid down schedule by the fixture committee, Jammu and Kashmir is scheduled to meet Delhi in the North Zone Ranji Trophy one-day opener at Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) Stadium, New Delhi on February 26.
Two days later i.e. on February 28, J&K shall be competing against SSCB at Palam in the second limited over game. The remaining three matches of this zonal level competition shall be played at Harbax against Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Haryana.
