GDC RS Pura launches '100 hours of Swachhta'

rs pURA, May 29: Two J&K Girls Bn NCC of GDC, R. S. PURA launched "Swachh Bharat Summer Internship- 100 hours of Swachhta" under the supervision of Prof. Bindu Kumari, NCC Convener and Prof. Shaveta Chowdhary, Nodal Officer NCC (Swachh Bharat Summer Internship). A team of NCC Committee comprising of NCC Convener, Nodal Officer, Dr. Anuradha, Dr. Rajni Bala and ten cadets were flagged off to Village Baga Marh by revered Principal of the college Prof. Kalpana Kesar for one day awareness campaign around better sanitation practices.
The team met the general public in the community hall of the village Baga Marh where the programme was initiated by Prof. Bindu Kumari. She emphasized the importance of handwashing, using a toilet and cleaning the surroundings. The proceedings of the programme was taken over by Nodal Officer(SBSI) Prof. Shaveta Chowdhary. She added that the role of youth in promoting the health and hygiene awareness among the families and neighbourhood is very crucial. The Swachhta interns of 2 J&K Girls Bn NCC also sensitized the villagers about issues related to Sanitation, Open defecation and hygiene practices.
The Sarpanch of the Gram Panchayat Kotli Shah Doula in which the village Baga Marh is situated, Vinod appreciated the efforts of the college NCC team and cadets in creating awareness of hygiene among the villagers.
