LAHC arrange adequate relief for nomads at Changthan

Adequate relief is being provided to the nomads in Changthan area who were directed to shift to spring pastures ahead of time, said Chief Executive Councilor (CEO) Chering Dorje at a high level meeting held here today. Dorje said due to heavy snow fall in the region, survey team have been depute to asses the factual position in the area, so that further action can be taken on war footing.
Coordinator task force, Dr. Tsering Phuntsog on the occasion said survey teams have completed the work in the area including at Nyoma and Durbook blocks and the report will be submitted soon to the authorities.
CEO apprise the members in the meeting that Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) has been successful in arranging 1300 qts of fodder in the first phase and added under 2nd phase 1287 qts of barly is also being arranged which will be distributed among the nomads.
CEC, also stressed on the task force to monitor the relief measures and fodder and feed should be distributed amicably to the needy nomads.
