| Sheikh Abdullah wanted to see Dogras not rising: BJP | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 17 In an impressive function organized by Social Justice and Empowerment Cell of BJP in Tali Morh area of Jammu West Assembly constituency, party president Ashok Khajuria, in his address, charged the successive governments in the state after 1947 of adopting anti-Jammu and Kashmir-centric policies, thus ignoring Jammu region in all matters and at all levels. He said India got freedom from the British in 1947 but unfortunately the people of Jammu region became slaves of such Kashmiri leaders, whose one point agenda has been to give preferential treatment to Kashmir and the Jammu-based leaders of Congress party in particular, supported each and every such policy that was designed at giving step-motherly treatment to Jammu region and humiliating brave Dogras. Khajuira reminded the gathering of the public declaration of NC founder and former Chief Minister Sheikh Mohd. Abdullah that before leaving this world, he wanted to see every educated unemployed Dogra youth with rope on shoulders and working as labourer at Lal Chowk and Parade Bus Stands. Such an approach of Sheikh Mohd Abdullah makes it clear how much hatred he had for Dogras. He said after the expiry of Sheikh Abdullah, his son Dr. Farooq Abdullah, PDP patron & former Chief Minister Mufti Mohd. Sayeed, and now Congress leader and present chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, all have been working to fulfil the dream of Sheik Mohd. Abdullah. The highly educated unemployed Dogra is sitting on hunger strike, dharna and even attempting self-immolation in frustration in absence of employment but the government has least concern for him. Reason-Any Dogra or any Jammuite has no place in the scheme of things of the government. He also trook the Congress-led UPA at the centre and the Congress-led coalition in the state to task for their total failure to check the price rise and end discrimination with Jammu region. The BJP chief criticised the central as well as state government for their failure to ensure that the benefits of the various schemes meant for social upliftment reach the deserving sections. Ashok Khajuria warned the state government not to test the patience of the Dogras and take immediate steps to see that all the three regions are treated equally in all matters. He declared that the BJP will work more vigoursly in the coming days to expose the Congress, the NC, the PDP and the Panthers Party for their anti-_Jmamu and anti_-Dogra approach and see to it that these parties are shown the way in the coming elections with the support of the masses who are feeling betrayed. Earlier, Ashok Khajuria was given a rousing reception on his arrival at the venue of the function. Social Justice & Empowerment Cell State Convenor Rajinder Sharma conducted the proceedings of the function. BJP leaders including State Gen. Secretary Shamsher Singh Manhas, State Secretary Yudhvir Sethi, Treasurer Sat Sharma, Press Secretary Balbir Ram, Distt. President Kavinder Gupta, Distt. General Secy. (Org.)
