| Jodhamal public school celebrates annual day | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 17 Asserting that the state of Jammu and Kashmir was fast emerging as a hub of education, Minister for Rural Development Mr. Mula Ram said the reformative measures introduced over the years have made quality the benchmark for assessing the performance of educational institutions. The Minister was addressing staff and parents at the annual Day Function of Jodhamal Public School at Channi on the outskirts of the winter capital. Minister of State for Education Mr. G M Saroori, Vice Chancellor Jammu University Mr. Amitabh Matto and Secretary Education Khazir Mohammad Wani were also present on the occasion. Describing the massive expansion of educational sector over last five years as unprecedented in the history of state, Minister said the Jammu University,one of the state’s premier Institutions have made its mark internationally. The massive expansion of education sector with opening of new Universities colleges, and thousands of primary secondary and higher secondary schools have taken the education to the remotest corner of the state, Minister added. Referring to various reforms introduced in the education system, he said stress was being laid to make it more qualitative and job oriented. He said providing quality education in government schools was the priority with the Ghulam Nabi Azad led coalition. The Minister appreciated the school management for preparing the students in extra curricular activities which they demonstrated during the function. He said emergence of such reputed institutions in the state has made the state a hub of education. Speaking on the occasion, MoS Education Mr G M Saroori asked the school management to look out for talented students in rural areas instead of restricting the benefits within the four walls of Jammu city. He said doing so would definitely add new dimensions to their institution which boasts of being one of the best schools in Jammu. Earlier the Ministers distributed trophies among the students of the school who had exhibited distinguished performance during last academic session.
