| Kashmir imbroglio can’t be resolved through military might: Bazaz | | Says Centre lacks clear cut policy on KP’s rehabilitation | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 17 Asserting that Kashmir issue can not be solved through ‘military might’, Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Forum Chief, Bhushan Bazaz said the issue being ‘a political one needs a political solution only’. He also accused the Centre for not having a clear cut policy regarding rehabilitation of displaced Kashmiri Pandits. Addressing one day party workers convention here today Bazaz said that alienation in Kashmir will not end as the people have apprehensions that government is not sincere towards peace process. Contesting the claims made by the State Government that no custodial death took place during 2007, Bazaz quoted the State Human Rights Commission report said that 19 custodial killings have taken place during the year and alleged that ‘security forces have been given unbridled powers’. JKDP leader further wanted to know why ceasefire is not being declared in Kashmir when it is being extended in Nagaland from year after year. Leveling serious allegations on Central Government, Bazaz said there are some ‘vested interests who are thriving on blood of innocent Kashmiris’ adding that ‘they don’t want that the issue be solved and the violence stopped as their livelihood depends on the bloodshed’. He also wanted to know what happened to the recommendations of the Working Groups on Kashmir and how many people were roped in for peace process.
