| Puri hails appointing SAC chief | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 18 While welcoming the government’s reported decision to appoint a permanent chief of the state Accountancy Commission, a post lying vacant for the last over two years, Balraj Puri convenor PUCL J&K State has appealed the state government not to delay filling up vacant posts in the equally important institutions like the State Human Rights Commission and that of the chairperson and members of the State Women Commission lying vacant for the last more than five years. He further urged the government to appoint a police officer in the rank of an IGP in the State Human Rights Commission to equip it with an investigation agency, as provided in the SRC Act of 1997.
