| Gujjar leader Afzal dies, various condole | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 18 Young Gujjar leader and social reformer Ch. Mohammad Afzal, Son of veteran Gujjar leader and Member Parliament (Rajya Saba) Ch. Mohammad Aslam died of a heart attack in Surnkote Poonch last night. He was 40. Reports said that large number of people from different walks of life including Various Gujjar leaders and dignitaries, Legislative Members, political leaders of various parties and others today attended last rites of Ch. Mohammad Afzal at Lasana Poonch Padam Bhushan Mian Bashir Ahmad, Former Minister Mian Altaf Ahmed, MLA, Ch. Javaid Rana and Mir Jahanghir Mir, were among the significant persons, who called on Ch. Mohammad Aslam at Lassana and conveyed their condolences personally. Various Organizations working for Gujjars also condoled the sad demise of Young Gujjar Leader and Social reformer. Dr. Javaid Rahi, National Secretary of Tribal Research and Cultural Foundation expressed grief over the demise of Ch. Mohammad Afzal . He has offered condolence to the Ch Mohammad Aslam and his family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.Ch. Mushtaq Qadri and Dr. Ghulam Abas of the organisation also condoled the death. Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today expressed solidarity with the veteran Congress leader and Member Parliament Choudhary Mohammad Aslam whose son Choudhary Mohammad Afzal passed away on Sunday. Expressing shock and grief over the sad demise of Afzal the PDP Patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Party President, Mehbooba Mufti in a condolence message have described Afzal as a noble soul and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family. J&K Gujjar Bakerwal Joint Forum has also condoled the sad demise of Ch. Mohammad Afzal. In a meeting held under the chairmanship of its president Ch Shamsher Ali Boken, the participants observed two minute silence to mourn the demise. Boken described Ch. Mohammad Afzal as a up coming Gujjar leader and social worker, who always helped the poor and needy persons. He was a pious man. He conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members. Shah Mohammad Chowdhary State Member of Gujjar and Bakerwal Advisory Board also expressed heart-felt condolences on the untimely demise of Ch. Mohammad Afzal. Mr Shah Mohammad said that the departed soul was a social worker and always helped the poor and needy persons during his entire life. He prayed to Almighty God for peace to the departed.
