| PDP demands relief for snowfall hit victims | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 18 General Secretary of People's Democratic Party (PDP) Mr. Daman Bhasin has sought immediate disbursement of the relief for the victims of the heavy snowfall in Districts of Udhampur, Reasi, Rajouri, Poonch and its adjoining areas. Bhasin castigated the district administration at Udhampur and Reasi for distributing relief on the basis of the ration card of 2001. He said that this amounts to violating the basic mechanism of the distribution of relief among the needy and deserving. Bhasin said that a number of delegations belonging to these areas met him, informing him about the prevailing situation. He has urged the district administration to provide free ration to the people of these affected areas for the next three months. He has urged the state government to conduct a survey of these areas for finding exact details about the loss suffered by the people living in these areas. Meanwhile, Zonal President of People's Democratic Party (PDP) Banihal Mr. Abdul Ahad Wani has praised the efforts of Electric Engineer Mr. Naveen Uppal for his sincere efforts in restoring the electric supplies. He has also expressed deep satisfaction over the working of Tehsildar Banihal Mr. Jitender Mishra. A meeting was also held in this regard at the PDP office in Banihal. Those who participated in the meeting included Mr. Mohammed Amin Peer, Mr. Mohammed Shafi, Mr. Ghulam Rasool, Mr. Mohammed Asharaf Malik, Mr. Mohammed Afzal, Mr. Ahmedullah, Mr. Ghulam Hassan, Mr. Bashir Ahmed and Mr. Mohammed Asif Mir.
