| Amit Jashan-e-Jammu, A cruel joke for Jammuites | | | EARLY TIMES REPORTER

It was after a long peaceful struggle of 25 years that the recommendations of ‘Wazir Commission’ were implemented in the state by the coalition government headed by Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad.
With the creation of four more new districts of Ramban, Reasi, Samba and Kishtwar alng with few more new tehsils in Jammu region have been by a large welcomed the Jammu people. Panthers Party which has played a role for implementing the recommendations of the Commission is organizing a Jashan-e- Jammu function tomorrow at Abhinav Theatre. The function being inaugurated by the chief minister G .N Azad, is likely to be attended by large number of eminent persons belonging to different fields. As the preparation for celebrating the event has reached its final stage, certain voices has been raised from different quarters.
The Sr. vice president and spokesman of BJP whiel talking to ‘Early Times’ said that the organizers of Jashan-e –Jammu, should be cancelled this week long programme. He said, by granting some district t Jammu region has not full filled this time also valley has gained and added Jammu district is more superior than that of district Srinagar in terms of population and areaaa, and as such discrimination with Jammu still continues. By granting of four new districts was its legitimate right, govt. has done no favour, he said, but the other hand Kashmir valley got more, which they never demanded.
Dr. Ramakant Dubey, state president of Vishwa Hindu Parishad saiad , Jammu region hs always been neglected by the Kashmiri leaders and always explited the sentiments of Jammu people. By organizing Jashan-e-Jammu by Panthers Party serve no purpose. Romesh mottn, General secretary PDP when contacted said, that at this state he is not in a position to commit on Jashne-e-Jammu. He said he has to consult party high command first member Parliament, Lal Singh, said that the congress party here playe3d a important role in getting more district for the region, but we want creation of more district, like Kashmir, then we can celebrate it as a Jeshne-e-Jammu and Kashmir. No single party can claim credit for creation of more district.
Giving his view, that National Conference provincial president Ajay Sadhotra said, that is no need of any celebrations and added Jammu is once again neglected. Akhnoor, Basholi and Nowshera etc place have been kept out. This dicirious has been taken in ….. by the govt. and organizing such function have no fee. I think the panthers supreme may he rewarded with a berth in the cabinat during expansion, he said.
Prof Bhim Singh, Panthers Party supreme said, by implementing the recommandation of wazir commission, constitutional of finance commission and delimitation commissioner. All aspiration of the Jammu people have been met and as such we have every night to celebrate the Jeshne-e-Jammu function.
