Poonch, June 12: Introduced to bring about transparency and accountability in the governance, the RTI act has time and again been trashed by the government officers in certain departments of the state government in this border district.
According to the sources an application under RTI act was filed before Executive Engineer of Public Health Engineering Department on 09/05/2018, who forwarded the same in original to the Assistant Executive Engineers of Subdivision Surankote, Poonch and Mendhar for report within five days positively under his official dispatch number PHEP/779-81 dated 09/05/2018 but all the Assistant Executive Engineers of the said department have thrown the norms of RTI Act out of the window and didn't care to reply till now. Locals, especially RTI activists namely Amit , Javid Ahmed, Mohd Ajaz and others have appealed to chief minister Mehbooba Mufti and Chief Engineer PHE department to look into the matter personally and take appropriate action against such officials who are violating RTI norms. |
