CM, ministers express grief over demise of Aslam's son
PAC mourns Ch. Afzal’s death, adjourns its sitting

Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and several other Ministers of the coalition government, PAC of State Legislative and other organizations have expressed profound shock and grief over the passing away of Ch. Afzal, son of MP Ch. Mohammad Aslam.
In a condolence message, the Chief Minister conveyed his sympathies to Ch. Mohammad Aslam and other members of the bereaved family. He also prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
Sports and Technical Education Minister Haji Nissar Ali, CADP Minister Taj Mohi- ud-Din, Minister for Rural Development Mula Ram, Minister for R&B Jugal Kushiro, Minister for Forests Qazi Mohamed Afzal, Minister of State for Industries and PHE, Dr. Romesh Chander Sharma, Minister of State for Finance and Planning, Aijaz Ahmad Khan, Minister of State for School Education and Tourism, G. M. Saroori, Minister of State for CAPD and PHE, S. Manjit Singh and Chairman Handicrafts Corporation have also expressed their deep shock and grief over the sad demise of Mohd. Afzal, and conveyed their heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family
The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Legislative Assembly has also condoled the sad demise of Ch. Mohammad Afzal, who died yesterday due to heart attack.
The PAC met here today under the chairmanship of MLA Harshdev Singh expressed heartfelt condolences and sympathies with the bereaved family. The Committee prayed to the almighty for giving courage to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss and peace to the departed soul. With this, the Committee adjourned its sitting and did not take any business.
Those present in the meeting included Abdul Rehman Veeri, Sartaj Madni, Yogesh Sawhney, Mohammad Aslam Khan, Ashok Sharma, Bilal Ahmed Lodhi, legislators, Director General of Police Kuldeep Khoda, Secretary Home Dr. Pawan Kotwal, Accountant General J&K Ms. Ghazala Meenai, Secretary Assembly Mohammad Ramzan, Director Accounts & Treasuries Mohammad Irshad Khandey and senior officers of Home Department and Assembly Secretariat
All India Confederation of SC/ST in an emergent meeting chaired by its Chairman Anam Choudhry has also condoled the death of Ch. Afzal, son of the veteran Gujjar leader and MP Ch. Mohammed Aslam.
Describing the deceased as a young and bold leader of the Gujjar Community, the Confederation vowed to carry forward his mission and fight for the cause of the community. The death has caused an unrecoverable loss to the Gujjar community of India, the meeting observed.
The condolence meeting was among others attended by Gulzar Ahmed, Maqbool Hussain, Farooq Ahmed Phamrha, Haji Abdul Jabbar, Ch. Lal Hussain, Ch. Maqbool Hussain and Ch. Fiaz Ahmed Kassana.
