| Cold wave revisits Kashmir, Upper reaches of Jammu | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb19 After a brief respite from chilling cold during last some days, cold wave has revisited Kashmir valley and upper reaches of Jammu showing abrupt fall in temperature. While plain area of Jammu has recovered with temperature rising to twenty-five degrees, the upper reaches witnessed a fresh cold wave last night making the mercury to dip even to minus one degree. Similarly Srinagar shivered in cold with the minimum of temperature falling to minus 2.3 degrees Celsius on Monday night. Metrological expert told that the lowest temperature in Jammu was recorded at Bhaderwah with the mercury falling down to minus one degree Celsius, while the minimum mercury recorded at Jammu was 10.2 degrees Celsius. Similarly mercury dipped in upper reaches of Jammu region with the minimum temperature at Katra and Batote falling down to 9.4 and 4.0 degrees respectively. The northern most part of Kashmir valley was the coldest with minimum of minus three degrees Celsius while parts of South Kashmir including Qazigund, Pahalgam, Kokernag recorded a low of minus 6.4, minus 4.8 and minus 2.0 degrees Celsius respectively.
