| Dual benefit of conserving oil: Mattoo | | Hunting Oil and Gas in J&K and Pakistan | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb19 Alternative sources of energy can be used to conserve Oil and Gas for the future generation. Stated Vice Chancellor Jammu University Prof. Amitabh Mattoo. Vice Chancellor Prof. Amitabh Mattoo was speaking to the young School children's of all the three regions Jammu, Kashmir Ladakh on the eve of three day International Conference for Hunting Old Oil and Gas in Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan in Jammu Universities Zorawar Singh Auditorium. The three day International Conference is being organized by the Department of Geology, University of Jammu and MPRG Department of Earth Science, University College of London. Prof. Amitabh Mattoo further stated that the striking of Oil and Gas in Jammu Kashmir and Pakistan is likely to give boost to the economy of this region and especially Jammu and Kashmir State. "If we succeeded to find out Gas and Oil in this region it will completely transform our state and will lead us to prosperity like Middle East," Prof. Amitabh Mattoo said Vice Chancellor said that there are other sources like Wind Energy and Solar Energy which could be utilized so that the oil is sustainability conserved for long term. "Use of alternative sources of energy such as wind and solar energy should be taken on priority basis to conserve the depletive source of Oil and Gas," he added. Adding to it he said that time has come when we all should think and work globally to save our planet earth. "We should burn less of Oil and Gas which otherwise will lead to increase in temperature and climatic changes. Therefore it is desirable to conserve Oil which will have dual effect of saving Oil and Gas as well as keeping climate of Earth Planet stable. He also congratulated the department of Geology, University of Jammu and MPRG Department of Earth Science, University College of London for organizing such conference in Jammu and Kashmir State. Prof. Mattoo also welcome all the delegates who have arrived in Jammu to attend the Conference.
