| 350 stranded people airlifted in Kishtwar | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 19 A total of 350 stranded people have been airlifted by Indian Air Force helicopters to areas in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said today. Two IAF choppers, which made 11 sorties yesterday, airlifted 270 people from Kishtwar town to Dachan, Marwah, Wadwan and Padder areas, they said, adding they also brought back about 80 people from these areas to the town.The IAF had made the helicopter available on the request made by the state government, officials said. They said more than 100 people were still stranded in Kishtwar after roads to their far-flung areas got blocked by snowfall.The IAF said it was likely to operate more sorties to airlift them.The district authorities have made all possible arrangements for those stranded at Kishtwar town.Power and water supply have also been restored in most affected villages of Kishtwar district, they said.
