| Sahyog-India holds camp for disabled | | 'Serving suffering humanity deserves all commendation’: Pandey | | Early Times Reporter

Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Sudhanshu Pandey today inaugurated two day District Physical Disability Board Camp organized by Sahyog-India in collaboration with Health and Family Welfare Department at Prerna Institute of Rehabilitation and Research, Pir Baba Kulian RS Pura. The main purpose of holding the camp was to issue disability certificates, railway and bus fare concession certificates to the deserving disabled and handicapped of all categories. Nearly 500 handicapped and disabled, who attended today’s camp was given disability certificates, identity cards and railway and bus fare concession certificates.
Speaking at the function, Pandey expressed his satisfaction over the selfless service of Sahyog India for the masses in general and ‘persons with disability’ in particular in the border areas of the state. He directed all the concerned departments like Health, Social Welfare, Education and other non-governmental organization to extend their all support to Sahyog India, which is devoted to the cause of the deserving ones.
Pandey revealed that Government is planning to make data base by involving the developmental voluntary agencies on the pattern of other states to make some blocks as a model. ‘Service to the society is excellent but the service for the welfare of suffering humanity is a matchless mission which deserves all commendations’, he said and asked the disabled not to get dejected as the government is committed to share their problems.
SDM Reasi Mandeep Kour and CMO Health and Family Welfare Dr. Shahid Mughal were also presented.
Mughal gave details about the strategies chalked out by the health department for the benefit of the disabled and handicapped and asked them to avail maximum benefits from these schemes.
A team of doctors led by CMO Sahid Mughal, besides S K Sawhney Senior Manager PNB R S Pura, Nalini Kohli, Principal Degree College, Ch. Piara Singh ex- MLC, Dev Raj Sarpanch, K K Khajuria and Sat Pal Pappi, were also present at the camp.
