| Half Marathon: Stage set for mega event on Feb 24 | | | Early Times Reporter

The stage is set for the 2nd Half-Marathon organised by Jammu and Kashmir Police on February 24 involving people from all walks of life including the those senior citizens and students.
Introduced this year only, the `Run For Fun’ will have 300 participants including senior citizens and students from schools and colleges.
“The event on February 24 has been divided into three parts—21 kilometer Half Marathon for 18-plus men, five-kilometer 18-plus women competitive categories and three-kilometer `Run For Fun’ for all,” Sports Officer of Jammu and Kashmir Police, Dr Narinder Bhutiyal told Sports & Allied News.
He said that the Marathon shall be flagged off by the Director General of Police, Kuldeep Khoda at 8 in the morning simultaneously in all the groups from Police Stadium, Gulshan Ground here for already specified points.
“On return the participants will gather at Police Stadium where Minister for Sports, Haji Nissar Ali shall be giving away prizes to the winners at 10.30 am,” informed Dr Bhutiyal.
The organizers of the event, Jammu and Kashmir Police have also announced cash awards in competitive categories of men and women. The first position holder will be getting a cash prize of Rs 1500 while first runners-up will be awarded with Rs 1000 and second runner-up Rs 750.
“In all, there are 150 men and 50 women in competitive category. We have also invited all the international players from the state to be part of the `Run for Fun’,” he mentioned.
