Poonch, June 22: MGNREGA Workers today staged a protest demonstration in front office of Block Development officer Mankote and alleged that Gram Rozgar Sewaks and village level workers were hand in glove with the officials of Rural Development Department to delay the wages of poor labourers sources said. They said for the quite into some time our wages have not been paid while the bills of blue eyed get cleared timely and the money goes in the accounts of those people who are abroad for one purpose or the other. The MGNREGA labourers allged the BDO Mankote Mohd Ajaz Qureshi and his sub ordinates including Tech Assistants and Panchayat secy were hand in glove with GRS and VLWs who loot the state exchequer on the name of wages while as the laborers who have done work under MGNREGA wre denied the payment. They said it was due to commission culture prevailing in the department and poor laborers were unable to pay the same hence they get no wages of their works done. The labourers in a joint appeal urged the district authorities to look into the matter as why the MGNREGA labourers were not paid their dues for the last quite some time. They also urged to constitute a team of officials who inquire into the happenings and find out the truth. |
