Reasi, June 22: All J&K Youth Federation (AJKYF), Executive Member, Nakul Sharma met senior veteran of AJKYF and former President, Bar Association, Reasi, Adv. Vijay Sharma and discuss various issues relating to youth of Reasi District including formation of youth policy.
The Executive Member, AJKYF and former President, Bar Association, Reasi discussed various issues relating to the exploitation of youth on the basis of religion which leads to unrest among the youth of the state and also discussed the key features for formulation youth policy in the state. Advocate Vijay Sharma stressed for valuing young people as equal partners in the process of development and strengthening the values of democracy is essential to ensure bright future.
He pleaded that harnessing potential, building and strengthening skills, capabilities, educating youth, are all positive signs of socio-economic development of a nation. Nakul Sharma while explaining the concept and needs of youth policy said that youth policy is an important road map for youth development.
Formulation, adopting and implementing a youth policy is gigantic task, but nevertheless, the policy must be formed in order to face the plethora of challenges young people faced with a definite policy programme is needed to bring out maximum growth and tapping of their full potential.
The policy and action plan must therefore outline multi sectoral approach, fix responsibilities and enshrine programmes that can benefit young people and their immediate surroundings.
