| Panthers to contest coming elections of its own | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 20 Quite confident of their improved performance in ensuing elections, Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) has decided not to enter into alliances with any political party across the state during elections. Addressing media persons in a press conference here on Wednesday, General Secretary JKNPP, Darshan Sharma said that the working committee of the party has decided to contest the coming elections of its own. "We have decided to contest the election all alone and we will definitely improve our performance in a big way," Sharma added. Decrying the coalition for its failure to check the corruption, Sharma said that the people of state are fed up with the present dispensation as corruption and favouritism has taken the entire system in its vicious grip. He further said that the people living in far-flung areas of Bani, Basohli and Billawar are faced with severe problems due to callous attitude of governement in providing them the basic amenities like electricity and road connectivity. "Most of the Higher Secondary Schools and Primary Health Centres are running without staff which has created enormous problems for common man," he added. He demanded release of dues in favor of Nambardars and Chowkidars of the area who haven't been paid even a penny for the last four months.
