Natrang Theatre Festival concludes

JAMMU, June 22: Natrang Theatre Festival concluded here today at Abhinav Theatre with globally acclaimed Dogri play 'Ghumayee' written and directed by Balwant Thakur which enlivened audience with the electrifying performance by senior most actors of Natrang.
The senior actors like Suresh Kumar, Anil Tickoo, Vikrant Sharma, Sumeet Sharma, Neeraj Kant and Subash Jamwal established the fact that maturity in acting comes after devoting and dedicating the entire life in seeking perfection. Bharti Vaid, Chairperson PWWA was the chief guest on the occasion who appreciated this world class creative venture of Natrang.
Play 'Ghumayee' has already created a history for being the first Indian play which featured in Frankfurt Theatre Festival, Germany in the year 2009. It also has the distinction of having featured during the Commonwealth Games in the year 2010. Produced in the year 2000, this Dogri play has given a new cultural and intellectual identity to this part of the world. In past eighteen years, it has been staged in over 50 national and international theatre festivals and has won accolades all over.
Play "GHUMAYEE" is based on a Dogri Folk tale of a hilly village and opens with a 'VIDAI' scene after the solemnization of marriage and bride is being carried in a 'Doli' to her in-law's place.
