| Dr. Padha represents JK at workshop of BJP doctor's cell | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 20 In two days National Workshop of BJP Doctor's Cell held at Jaipur, Dr. Yog Raj Padha represented state unit of party where in healthy discussions were held on Medical Education and treatment, rural health promotion, health insurance, Public-private partnership and health services, regulation of medical and health services, and quality of life of doctor. Addressing media persons in a press conference on Wednesday, Dr Yog Raj Padha expressed his experiences in the workshop wherein four resolutions were passed on concluding day. He said that during the workshop they recommended that doctors should by no way be harassed and demoralized. " The resolution sought a law to protect the life and property of medical professionals and charging the culprits with a non-bailable offence for assaulting a doctor or medical personnel performing their duties. He further said that they recommended that the doctor should not be arrested on the basis of a private complaint discourages entire lot from serving the society. " In case of major injuries or death of a patient, initial enquiry must be done by a class 1 police officer and the report should be forwarded to a Board comprising of the Superintendent of Police, CMHO and a specialist concerned with the type of case," he added. The delegates in the workshop were of the opinion that good health of the citizens is a major requirement for development of country and hence at primary school level, health education should be growth oriented. " At higher secondary level, healthy nutrition and diet should be taught in detail and yoga should be taught at this stage in order to maintain good health and prevent diseases," he said. He further said that the workshop strongly demanded that the government should ensure that all the doctors actively participate in all activities aimed at preventing all the citizens from violating the rules and regulations of the preconception and prenatal diagnostic test acts. " The public should be clearly informed that seeking sex determination is illegal and punishable by fine and imprisonment, and funding should be made available to NGO's to promote the issue and facilities to pursue the goal of eradicating the evil of female foeticide in our country," he said.
