| Salani village without water | | | MS Nazki

Poonch, June 22: Salani Vallage in Uchhad area of Mendhar is without water for the last quite some time. The people of this village use contaminated rain water which leads them to multiple water borne infection sources said here today.
Since the water supply scheme in the village was defunct for the last quite some time but PHE department remained un moved despite several pleas from the locals. They said pipes etc were laid in the area but were of no use due to the failure of water supply scheme.
It is pertinent to mention here that martyr rifle man Aurangzeb who was abducted and killed by the terrorists some days ago in Pulwama belongs to the same village. The villagers expressed resentment that PHE department failed to provide water tankers to this village in this scorching heat of summer.
Locals alleged that there were water crisis in the village since long and people were forced to drink contaminated rain water which leads them to several water borne infections. They appealed district administration to take the stock of situation and restore proper water supply to the village, they added. |
