| Rattan Lal Shant conferred Sahitya Akademi award | | | Early Times Reporter

Jammu and Kashmir's prominent poet and writer Prof. Rattan Lal Shant (Raina) have been coffered with prestigious Sahitya Akademi for his contribution to the creative literature at a function in the National Capital.
An official said that the award was conferred on Prof. Shant at Kammani Auditorium today evening.
Prof Shant has the distinction of writing in Kashmiri and Hindi languages. The writings of Prof Shant include both prose and poetry. A renowned Hindi professor, hails from state's Summer capital Srinagar. He presently leading his retired life at Subhash Nagar Jammu.
Prof Shant has many fictions written in Hindustani and Kashmiri languages to his credit, which have been telecast from various channels of Doordarshan.
