Kendriya Vidyalya (KV) Hiranagar organized a colourful function to celebrate fourth annual sports day holding different sports events of Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Chess and Badminton at the school grounds.
The overall trophy was presented to Shivaji House with maximum 193 points by chairman nominee of the Vidyalaya and Tehsildar Hiranagar, Sunil Kumar while C S Jasrotia, retired Commanding Officer BSF and Kewal Krishan, member were guests of honour.
In his address, the chief guest stressed the need for involving more and more students in sports activities so as to give them exposure.
Earlier, Principal of the Vidyalaya, Vijay Kumar presented a detailed report of sports activities and achievements in the Vidyalaya.
Megha Sharma of class IX, who represented KVS Jammu Region in the KVSW National Sports meet twice, took the oath. Later, Dr Dinesh Sharma, PGT (Skt) presented vote of thanks. The sports meet was organized under the supervision of S K Sharma, PET of the Vidyalaya.
The detailed results:
100 mts race for boys: U-14 yr: Keshav, Shivaji, Ist; Sunil, Tagore, 2nd and Sahil, Ashoka, third. U-17 yr: Gourav, Raman, Ist; Varun, Shivaji, 2nd and Pallav, Raman, third.
100 mts race for girls: Bhanumati, Tagore, Ist; Neha, Raman, 2nd and Sarita, Raman, third.
Sack Race: 100 mts boys U-14 yr: Sunil, Tagore, Ist; Pradeep, Ashoka, 2nd and Shantmanu, Shivaji, third.
Banana Race girls (4th and 5th class): Srijna, Ashoka, Ist; Palak, Shivaji, 2nd and Nanita Sharma, Tagore, third.
Banana Race boys (4th and 5th class): Lalit, Ashok, Ist; Rohit, Raman, 2nd and Raghav and Akhil, Shivaji, joint third.
