A forecaster’s workshop was conducted at Air Force Station Jammu, with effect from 11 February 2008 to 22 February 2008 under the aegis of Western Air Command for warrant ranks and sergeants from various units of Western Air Command. The workshop was inaugurated by Group Captain V Prakash, Station Commander Air Force Station Jammu. Command Met Officer, Headquarter Western Air Command, Group Captain SK Raina was also present during the function.
The aim of the workshop which lasted for two weeks was to impart knowledge and training, generate interest and increase confidence level of warrant ranks and sergeants to carry out independent forecasting duties at their respective bases. During the valedictory function, Station Commander, Air Force Jammu Group Captain V Prakash congratulated the participants for the successful completion of the course and called upon them to make use of the lessons in carrying out better forecasting duties.
