| Scouts & Guides observe 'Thinking Day' | | Madan Lal donates Maurti Van to the BSGs | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 22 The J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides Association celebrated " Thinking Day" at its State Head Quarter, Ghandhi Nagar today in usual and unique way. About 200 scouts and Guides of more than 22 schools of Jammu district participated with a sense of pride and enthusiastically. Member Parliament Mr. Madan Lal Sharma was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Member Parliament appreciated the role of the scouts and guides movement, which sans borders and emerging as one of the best service rendering movements. He said that the scouts and guides movement should enlarge its scope of activities to persuade more and more youth for social activities. Mr. Madan Lal Sharma handed over the Keys of the Maruti Van to Lady Vice President Mrs. Roma Wani on the occasion. He donated the van to the Association out of Local Area Development Fund (MPLADF) for promotion of scouts and guides activities in the states. All faith prayer was started in which "Raghu Pati Ragh Jai Bolo Sat Dharmo Ke, we shall over come and hardesh main too" songs were sung. Verses from each religion were recited by the scouts and guides of Hindu, Muslim, Christan, Sikh and Jain Dharmas. Acting State Commissioner of the Movement Mr. I. D. Soni welcomed the guests and gave brief of the activities of the scouting and guiding movement and the importance of Thinking Day. The vote of thanks was presented by Mrs. Nasreen Khan, State Commissioner (G) in her most appealing and unique manner and the programme ended with a requisite dynamism. Among others, President, J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides Mr. Davinder Singh, Asstt. Director of Youth Services and Sports S. S. Bali Smt. Raj Sharma, Advisor and Prabha Jain were present on the occasion.
