| Jats seek OBC status | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 22
THE JAMMU and Kashmir Jats Welfare Association (JKJWA) has urged upon the Prime Minister (PM) to grant OBC status to the community. While addressing a press conference here today, the president of the association, Choudhary said that since the Jats community is acting as the back bone of the agriculture sector of the country btu irrespective of it the demands of the community for granting OBC status is turned down by the state government from time to time he further added that the Jats community is exclusively in the agriculture sector and the state government would grant the OBC status to the people of the community ont he pattern of other state governments of country, which had already granter them the said status. The association further urged upon the PM to grant the OBC status to the community as the people of the community are suffering badly due to the absence of such status.
