Pouni Chack Cricket Club (PCCC) lifted the Rural Cricket Tournament, an annual feature at Ghou Manasa in Marh Block, beating Channi Himmat Cricket Club (CHCC) by a margin of 30 runs at Higher Secondary School grounds. Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, PCCC set a target of 158 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the stipulated 20 over, which, in reply, CHCC could not chase and lost all their wickets for 127 runs in 18.3 over. For his match winning innings, Dheeraj Kumar of the winning club was declared man of the match. The man of the series trophy went to Amit while Sonu Choudhary was adjudged best batsman. In the final and prize distribution function, senior vice-president of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Players Association (JKCPA), Ranjit Kalra was chief guest, who gave away winners and runners-up trophies. Speaking to the gathering, Ranjit said, “there is lot of cricket talent in the rural areas and need of the hour is to catch them young and then groom into future stars.” Prominent among others present were Rattan Lal Sharma, Rakesh Chib, Jambel Ram, Krishan Lal, L K Khajuria, Arvind Sharma.
