Bajawa, another booked for harassing SDM

After three days of persistent lobbying for making her point across, an IAS officer has finally got a senior political leader and Member of Parliament booked at the local Police Station.
Sub Divisional Officer RS Pura Mandeep Kour had alleged that the Member of Parliament Tarlok Singh Bajwa of Peoples Democratic Party along with his supporters harassed her and restrained her from discharge of administrative duties. She had lodged a written complaint with Jammu’s Divisional Commissioner and Inspector General of Police but authorities were in a fix on whether to initiate action or not.
In her complaint, Mandeep Kour alleged that she was on her way to supervise demolition of a structure which was raised in the way of a complainant. While he car was on the way that the Member of Parliament along his supporters appeared from nowhere and parked his vehicle on way of SDM thus restricting her forward movement, she has said in her complaint.
She further alleged that she was made to sit in a car for a long time and all this while the Member Parliament kept his car parked on they and his supporters warned her of going ahead to demolish the structure. Bajwa had entered in to a brawl with the SDM Mandeep Kaur when she was wanted to supervise demolition drive.
After two days of dillydallying in a surprise development police today finally registered FIR against Bajwa under section 342, and 353 of RPC for restraining Sub Divisional Magistrate RS Pura while she was discharging her official duty. One close relative of TS Bajwa, Sukha Singh was also named in the FIR.
Official sources said, SDM had lodged a complaint alleging Rajya Sabha MP prevented her from discharging her official duty on the ground.In her complaint she had pointed that associates of Rajya Sabha MP manhandled her and restrained her from discharging duty.
