| Clerical staff extends pen down strike | | Demands end of pay anomalies | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 23 Already paralyzing the working in government departments all across the state from last two days by going on mass casual leave, the clerical staff have decided to go for pen down strike for three consecutive days from February 25 to register their protest against the pay anomalies against them. Hundreds of clerks took out a rally under the banner of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh All Departments Clerical Staff Association in protest against the 'double standards and anti-clerical policies' of government. The procession started from Mubarak Mandi and after passing through several markets of city it finally culminated at Shalamar Chowk. They were shouting slogans like "Pay anomalies Khatam Karo Barna Agitation Ka samna Karo' (End the pay anomalies other wise face the consequences) and were demanding the end of dual policies of government. Addressing the Protestants at Shaheedi Chowk, Convener of the Association, Rehmatullah Malik said that the present government is pro capitalist and anti poor who strive hard to make their both ends meet. " Government has failed to fulfill our genuine demands and we would never budge till our demands are conceded," he added. On the occasion he demanded pay scale of 4000-6000 to junior Assistants, 4500-7000 to senior Assistants/ Steno typists/ Junior Stastical Assistants and 5500-9000 to Head Assistants/ Junior Stenographers and statically Assistants. |
