Vishal Academy of Taekwondo bagged first place in the Ist Kulbushan Handa Memorial Open Taekdondo Championship which was organized by the Kulbushan Handa Educational Trust under the banner of J&K Taekwondo Association at Roop Nagar, here today.
The second place went to Tiny Tots while Xt Stavier School finished third in the medals tally.
In the prize distribution function, former Education Minister and MLA, Harsh Dev Singh was chief guest, who gave away winners and runners-up trophies. Prominent among others present were Rajni Bala (Corporator), P C Sharma, Additional Advocate General, Dr Vikram Handa and Gurpreet Handa. Earlier, the event was declared open by the chairperson of the Trust, Veena Handa.
About 200 players from different schools and clubs as also from belt forces participated in the day long event. Vote of thanks was presented by Deepak Handa.
The NIS qualified in Taekwondo, Atul Pagotra was organizing secretary of the tournament.
