| Papa’s gypsy, uncle’s blessings | | Cop’s minor son hits passerby’s car with father’s official vehicle | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 23 A minor son of a Police official hit a car in Gandhi Nagar area and ran away. The common man on the street believes that it was a triple offence, but the local SHO says, “parties have settled down case with compromise”. Barely teenaged son of a Police Inspector was driving his father’s official gypsy fitted a beacon lamp when it hit a Maruti car in the Gandhi Nahar area. The matter was brought to the notice of local Police Station but was hushed up without any fuss. The Police Gypsy driven by teenaged boy had registration number JKO2M 2396 and it belongs to boy’s father identified Inspector Ashraf presently posted at the Police Headquarters. SHO Gandhi Nagar Rafiq Manhas, who often claims himself as efficient police officer says that there was nothing in it and the matter was settled down with mutual compromise between both parties. But what is the point of compromise? Is it compromise with law or this does not make out a point at all? How is the teenaged boy driving? The officer claims that he had a license. But is there also license of driving Police officer’s official vehicle by his son. Perhaps being Police officer’s son, the boy enjoys enough privileges to drive father’s official vehicle and also enjoys immunity of hitting vehicles on the way. However, the SHO Rafiq says the matter was settled down by compromise. |
