| Ashoka College wins folk dance competition | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 24
In the Inter Collegiate /Departmental Folk Dance Competition organized by Department of Student Welfare, Jammu University under Display Your Talent, Ashoka College of Education bagged first prize while GCW Gandhi Nagar and GCW Parade shared second and third place respectively. Certificates of merit were awarded to PG Integrated, Jammu University and GCW Udhampur The competition was adjudged on the basis of Rhythm, formations, expression, costumes, makeup, sets and overall effects. Praduman Singh, Kamal Sharma and Anuradha Seth Kohli were the judges. Attired beautifully and bejeweled traditionally, the participating team from Ashoka College of Education stole the show by performing the Punjabi Folk dance “Giddha” . GCW Gandhi Nagar presented Rajasthani folk dance , Swan Gayo, Kheton Mein Javo Mahrae Bhai while GCW Parade performed on Rajasthani Folk dance Ghumar and the PG Integrated team presented kalbeliya which was applauded by the jam pached audience. Chairman campus Cultural Committee, NR Sharma and Dean Student Welfare, Dr. PS Pathania distributed the prizes among the winners. The programme was compeered by Rishi Kumar.
