| Veteran Thespian, Ksheminder Raina passes away | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 24
A veteran artist Kshmeinder Raina passed away other day due to cardiac arrest at the age of forty-eight. Raina contributed enormously to the field of art right from his child hood and earned accolades for his performances many a time. Apart from theatre shows, he has to his credit more than hundred Tele- serials in many languages telecast from various television channels across the country. His part in a National Award winning Kashmiri feature film " BUB" was widely praised for synchronizing expressions with dialogues. Meanwhile, various Media and social organizations across the state have condoled the death of Ksheminder Raina. Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Welfare Front (JKMWF) Tophsherkhania has termed the death of Raina as irreparable loss to the art of state. In a condolence message, President JKMWF, Rakesh Pardesi said that the untimely death of Raina is only the loss for his family members but for the entire state as well. The artists of ATHWAS, an electronic media organization of migrants of which Ksheminder Raina was president, expressed their shock on the sudden demise of the veteran artist. After paying homage to their colleague, the furious artists attributed Raina's death to faulty system of Prasar Bharti, which according to them has put the entire artist fraternity on turmoil from last five years. Jammu Kashmir Media Arts Association (JKMAA) has also described the death of Raina as great loss to the field of art and culture. While paying tributes to departed soul, P.N.Pandit, President JKMAA said that apart from being a great artist, Raina was a good social worker, who always used to contribute the society by one way or the other.
