| Development of neglected areas priority of Govt: Gharu | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 24 Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development and R&B Ch Gharu Ram has said that Azad-led government was committed to develop neglected areas at par with cities and town by upgrading their road connectivity, lanes, drains, healthcare, drinking water, electricity and education infrastructure. This was stated by the Minister after inspecting the ongoing construction work of 1.9 kilometre long lane and drain from Main Bazar to Government Girls High School Badyal Brahamna in Suchetgarh being completed at a cost of Rs. 4 lakh under BADP by April 2008. He said that the government was fully aware of the problems of border belts and was making concerted efforts to provide all basic amenities to them. For this purpose, the government has provided sufficient funds in every sector. He said that during the 27 months of Azad-led government massive development has been made in all sectors in every nook and corner of the state. Responding to the demands, the Minister announced Rs. 1.30 lakh for the construction of lane and drain from main road to Prem Nagar Basti under BADP. He asked the RDD engineers to immediatly start the construction work of lane and drain and complete it before April 2008 so that the residents do not face any inconvenience. For construction of platform at Badyal Brahamna, he asked the engineers to prepare the estimate and submit it for funding so that the work would start soon. He asked the engineers to use quality material in the construction works while reminding them the resolve of government to create durable assets. To ease the rush in district headquarters hospitals, Ch. Gharu Ram informed that the government has sanctioned Rs. 70 lakh for construction of Primary Health Centre at Badyal Brahamana adding that the foundation stone of the hospital would be laid soon. For construction of additional accommodation at Government Boys High School, Badyal Brahamna, he apprised that government has sanctioned Rs. 2 lakh, work on which would start soon. Later, the Minister visited Kanshi Ram Ashram in Gaddigarh and prayed for peace and prosperity of the country.
