| 'Devil quoting scriptures’ | | Geelani's invitation to KPs to come back to valley | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 24
Sayeed Ali Shah Geelani's invitation to Kashmiri Pandits to come back to valley is tantamount to "Devil quoting scriptures" or "Satan serving sermons". The hardcore secessionist and Islamic fundamentalist leader, Sayeed Ali Shah Geelani has been responsible to a great extent for creating conditions under which the Kashmiri Pandits and other Hindus as well as Sikhs were hounded out of Kashmir, under a set plan by the Islamic fundamentalist and jehadis to cleans the Kashmir valley of non Muslims, as a prelude to creating Islamic sovereign state of Kashmir. To give the devil his due, like many other secessionist and fundamentalist leaders of Kashmir, who sugarcoat their communal agenda under secular cover, Geelani makes no secret of his ideology and ideal of merging Kashmir with Pakistan, on account of its overwhelming Muslim majority population, believing in two nation theory propounded by Jinah and Mohammad Iqbal, which led to the partition of the country. He had even stated earlier that he stands for Kashmir's mergers with Palistan, although he would like plebiscite to be held for be siding the future status of Kashmir viz a viz India and Pakistan. He is even on record to declare that in case the majority of the people of Kashmir choose for remaining with India, he and his supporters would migrate to Pakistan (Hizrat kar jain gai). Geelani, in the past has also stated that he stands for Islamic state of J&K, where Hindus and other religious minorities can live as second class citizens with minority status. Similarly he advocated the Muslim in India to be granted the status of minority citizens. Several moves in the past by the government of India and the state government to bring back migrant Kashmiri Pandits to their homes in the valley, have been frustrated by Geelani and his cohorts, who have developed vested interest in Kashmiri Hindus remaining out of valley. Besides having political contours in keeping Kashmir cleansed of all religious minorities, the unscrupulous and greedy elements in Kashmir have eye on the property of Kashmiri Hindu migrants. Still another interest served by the Kashmiri Pandits remaining out of Kashmir is to occupy the space vacated by them in the government services, the state government has, through a latest decision, fulfilled this design of the secessionists and fundamentalists in Kashmir by regularizing the appointees on government jobs left vacant with the migration of the Kashmiri Pandits and making the substitute appointees as permanent. Geelani is also on record to have stated in the past that conditions are not conducive for the KP migrants to come back and get settled at their homes in valley. His shading of crocodile tears now for the migrant KP brethrens can hardly convince anyone of his sincerity and change of heart on his part. Geelani's assertion "Tourists are our guests, attack on them is not permissible", is in sharp contrast to his call given only a six months ago by him for the labourers from other parts of the Kashmir staying put in the valley, getting engaged in various skilled and semi skilled jobs to quit Kashmir and serving ultimatum on them, setting a deadline for their exodus. Selective killings of tourists from Gujarat, Bengal and Maharashtra in the past three years were never condemned by Geelani and his associates. Now when the conditions in Kashmir valley have improved, with the security forces have upper hand over the terrorists, with the latter running for their lives and a good number of tourists coming to Kashmir, feeling quite secure, the assertion by Geelani that tourists should not be subjected to attacks, is belated and motivated. The rider put by Geelani for the return of Kashmiri Pandits to the valley that they should live along with their Muslim brethren rather than living in security zones, though a right suggestion, but the big question mark is can Geelani give guaranty of the security of Kashmiri Pandits or for that matter Hindus and other religious minorities to live without fear and with dignity in the interior of Srinagar and other places in Kashmir. Of course that will be an ideal position when Kashmiri Hindus can go back to the valley and live in their old houses, with peace, without any fear of attack or interference in their daily routines by the fundamentalists. But has Geelani and his outfit any control over the jehadis and other mischievous elements within Kashmir, who are bent upon creative communal divide and cleansing Kashmir of all the religious minorities?
