| Industrialists interact with power minister | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 25 Power Minister Babu Singh along with other government functionaries visited Bari Brahmana Industrial Complex and held an interactive session with the entrepreneurs of various industrial associations including BBIA, ASSI Gangyal, Birpur, Digina, Samba, Kathua and Federation Chamber of Industries, Kashmir at BBIA Bhawan here today. The minister was accompanied by Development Commissioner Power, Director I&C, Managing Directors of SIDCO, SICOP and JKI, Chief Engineers M&RE, System & Operation, senior officers of Pollution Control Board and various other Govt. departments Chairman Federation of Industries, Jammu and President of Bari Brahmana Industries Association Annil Suri in his welcome address informed about the problems being faced by the industrialists with respect to power. The major issues raised by him were uninterrupted 24 hours quality power supply, poor intra-departmental communication, up gradation/repair and maintenance of new/ existing infrastructure, billing procedures, dedicated power feeders to industry, no restriction on sanctions, re-imbursement of cost of CT/PT meters, street lighting, purchase/price Preference, Privatization of distribution of Power & Implementation of Ranga Rajan report. The Federation Chairman of Industries, also spoke on the occasion and discussed the various Power and Industry related issues of the State. The Power minister responded to all the points raised by the Chairman FOI & by different entrepreneurs during the interactive session. The Power Minister assured that Industry is priority for State Govt. and will work positively for a mutually beneficial relationship between the entrepreneurs & the Power Development Department. Rakesh Bhat, General Secretary BBIA conducted the proceedings and Sh. T.S.Reen, Secretary General FOI, Jammu presented the vote of thanks. |
