Army denies violation of ceasefire along LoC
8/26/2006 6:49:34 PM

New Delhi, Aug 26: The Army on Friday denied there had been any violation of ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.

Reacting to reports from Muzaffarabad that Indian troops had fired at Kotli, the Army spokesman said India has been observing the ceasefire agreement and there has been no firing across the border.

This is the second time in a week that Pakistani troops had raised the bogey of Indian troops violating the ceasefire.

A Muzaffarabad report quoting a Pakistani Major alleged Indian forces had fired across the LOC wounding a woman.
