| Doda migrants screaming for attention | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 25 Continuing their protest, the Doda Migrants on Monday took out a protest rally demanding relief at par with those migrated from Kashmir, while deploring the government apathy towards their plight. The displaced families from Doda area who are sitting on Dharna for the last sixty-one days in front of Divisional Commissioner Office took out the protest rally from Mubarak Mandi and after passing through Chowk Chabutra, Jain Bazar , B C Road and culminated at City Chowk. The protesting migrants were raising slogans against the government for ignoring their genuine demands. Addressing the rally, Chairman of the Zilla Doda Migrant committee, Suraj Parkash Rana decried government's apathetic attitude towards the displaced families of Doda district. He said while government is expressing deep concern towards the welfare of Militants and their families, the real victims of the violence are languishing on streets. He demanded a final assurance from the government on the demand and warned that if the government would not give a time frame, the committee would shift its protest to New Delhi. He demanded that the families who have migrated from Doda district should be lodged in government quarters. He also warned that if the demand of providing relief at par with Valley migrants was not conceded by the government, the committee would shift ther agitation to Delhi to make the deaf ears hear. |
