| Third J&K Science Congress begins | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 26 Jammu University in collaboration with state council for Science and Technology is hosting third J&K Science Congress, that began here today. The theme of the Science Congress is “Science and Technology for Sustainable Development” and will focus on the broad areas including Physical Sciences, Agricultural and Allied Sciences, Medical sciences, Biological Sciences and Engineering Sciences. Minister of Higher Education, Gulchain singh Charak was the chief guest on the occasion while Minister of State for Science and Technology, Mustafa Mir was the guest of Honor on the occasion. Commisioner Secretary, DST was the special guest while the Vice Chancellor Jammu University presided over the function. Dean faculty of Life Sciences, Prof. VK Anand welcomes the guests on the occasion. Two lecture sessions were held on the inaugural day. In the first session, Prof. NK Bansal delivered lecture on topic Energy Supply System for sustainable development and Prof. Nagendra Sharma spoke on the topic Sustainable Agriculture. While in the second session, Dr Shakti Gupta delivered the lectrure on the topic Helath Status in India: Road Ahead and DR. GN Qazi spoke on the topic Opportunities offered by Integrative Medicines. About 650 scientists from within and outside the state attended the function. Vote of thanks was given by Prof. Ranje Tiwari. |
