Early Times Reporter Jammu | Feb 26 Simula Sports Club (SSC) trounced JP World XI by a big margin of 58 runs in the ongoing 2nd Anandrathi Corporate Twenty-20 Cricket Tournament at University of Jammu grounds, here today. The match, which was treated as a friendly game between the two title contender sides, remained a well contested tie, the reason being both sides are unbeaten in the league round. Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, Simula Sports set a target of 169 runs for the loss of six wickets, which, in reply, JP World XI could not chase after their whole side bowled out for 110 runs in 17.4 over. Anoop Magotra was top scorer from Simula Sports with 33-ball 55 runs studded with eight boundaries, while Rohit Mattoo contributed 31 runs. Vikram and Vivek Thapa contributed 19 and 14 runs respectively. From JP World, Pranab Mahajan took two wickets for 29 runs. Deepak, Parveen and AP Singh shared a piece each. Batting second, JP World bowled out for 110 runs in 17.4 over thereby losing the match by 58 runs. Pranab Mahajan made highest 36 (off 27 ball, 4x3, 1x6) runs, followed by Munish Dogra, who contributed 24. From Simula Sports, Vikram claimed three wickets while Shotu and Rohit Mattoo took two each. Azhar, Anoop Magotra and Hilal Rather shared two each. |
