The hardcore secessionist and Islamic fundamentalist Teharake Hurriyat leader, Sayeed Ali Shah Geelani has crossed all limits in telling the lies and refuting what is an established fact and known to all. Geelani, who had belatedly shed crocodile tears over mass exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the valley 18 years ago and had appealed them to come back, has added a new chapter in telling the blatant lie by refuting the fact that it were the Islamic fundamentalist terrorists who killed a large number of Kashmiri Pandits and terrorized them in many ways, forcing them to mass exodus from Kashmir.
If militants had not harmed the Kashmiri Pandits, as is stated by Geelani then who killed in brought daylight at Maharaj Bazar, Mr. Ganju the judge who had earlier sentenced Maqbool Bhatt to capital punishment? If the killing of Ganju is justified by Geelani as reprisal to his awarding death sentence to JKLF founder Maqbool Bhatt, then who killed Tika Lal Taplu, against whom those who killed him could have no grug other than that he was opposed to their nefarious designs of dismembering J&K from India. Above all, who killed Premnath Bhatt Advocate of Anantnag on the evening of 27 December 1989, which triggered mass exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from Kashmir? Premnath Bhatt, though a top leader of KP community, yet had closed friendship with many tall Muslim leaders of Anantnag and other parts of Kashmir valley, who had helped many Muslim leaders in different political parties including the Muslim United Front, in promoting their political ambition, acting as their adviser and guide for those who sought his advice. So much so that even Mirwaiz of South Kashmir, Qazi Nisar consulted him on various matters and sought his advice. Pt. Premnath Bhatt was a true secularist, who though religiously following Hindu scriptures, had in death study and knowledge of Quran and whose Articles appearing in a Jammu magazine Panaroma equated the teachings of Quran with those of Bhagwat Geeta and who held Islam in high esteem. If the militants had not killed him then who had killed him, Mr. Geelani?
Mr. Geelani and his likes, including some mainstream politicians have very often blamed the then Governor Jagmohan for masterminding the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from Kashmir, in order to defame the movement of secession. But the killings of all these persons took place before Jagmohan had taken over as Governor of the state. Then whom Geelani blames for hatching the conspiracy to kill all these top Kashmiri Pandits, including a great philosopher poet of the community Sarvanand Premi and hundreds of other Kashmiri Pandits? Does Geelani want to suggest that the killings of all these and innumerable other Kashmiri Pandits, before they could migrate from Kashmir, was the handiwork of Indian government or the state government or some invisible element? Who wrote warnings and threats outside the houses of Kashmiri Pandits in the interior of Srinagar and other towns in the valley warning them of deadly consequences if they did not leave the valley soon?
The people's memory may be short lived, for those indulging in blatant lies to twist and distort the facts of history, but it is not too short lived to forget the events that have happened only 18 years ago, mister Geelani! |
