BJP Cow Development Cell State Convenor Omi Khajuria (Corporator) and Kissan Morcha State Vice-president Ashok Singh Manhas (Corporator) termed the killing of a saint (Mahant) of Shiv temple, Akalpur, Muthi, as a shameful and cowardly act which needs to be condemned by every one. It has shaken the faith in the present administration and police machinery. They said the police has failed to arrest the culprits. We demand that the investigation be handed over to a senior police officer of the rank of DIG and the culprits be arrested at the earliest. This can only restore the confidence of Hindu community.
They said it is clear that it was a planned murder and has spread a wave of anguish and terror in the whole vicinity of the area. All locals and followers of the Mahant are aware that there was no personal rivalry of Mahant with anyone. He was a noble soul and was dedicated for the welfare of Hindu community and no one had ever heard any thing adverse about him. It appears that government has not taken this episode very seriously and it is painful that all political parties and leaders kept deaf ear to the incident which clearly indicate that they don’t care for minority community in the state and if their religious leaders and Saints are not secure, what will happen to the common masses.
Recent killings of two priests in Leh belonging to Buddhist community and harassment of local leaders of a particularly community has shaken the confidence in the present government and we are sure that people will reflect their anger in forthcoming elections if such incidents are not taken seriously and culprits are not brought to justice.
