Jammu | Feb 27
The extended working committee meeting of the Opposition National Conference (NC) on Wednesday discussed the political situation in Jammu and Kashmir and electoral strategies for assembly polls scheduled later this year.
The prevailing political situation in the state and electoral strategies for the assembly polls were discussed by members of the working committee, which was chaired by president Omar Abdullah, party sources said here.
The NC leadership is trying to gear up its cadre for the coming assembly elections. It had bagged 29 seats out of 87 in 2002.
Party patron Farooq Abdullah, who is also attending the extended party three-day meeting which began yesterday, will also address it, the sources said.
The party also paid homage former state minister P L Handoo on his seventh death anniversary.
